Nolan Building Ltd are a small to medium size building business with 6 full-time staff, 2 part-time staff, Daniel and myself. We base our work around South Canterbury and the MacKenzie Country but are not limited to this. We have a fantastic/hardworking team behind us, which makes our job easier. Nolan Building specialises in new residential homes, (custom built or architectural), and we also carry out renovations/alterations and light commercial work. You might be asking yourself “another building business, why should we choose to build with you?” Well, we are known for our top-quality workmanship & professionalism, and pride ourselves on our attention to detail and being involved with our clients every step of the way keeping them up to date with the goings on, on site, so you are kept up to date with everything.

Nolan Building was established in 2008 & has grown from when just Daniel was working alone to now employing 8 staff. Daniel decided to take the leap into becoming his own boss after working for a local builder as Foreman for many years. He really enjoyed this role and the Project Management side of things so decided over many sleepless nights to “take the bull by the horns” and set up his own business. Over the years he has taken on roles which he had never dreamed of being involved in a small business. He wouldn’t have it any other way, especially when you get to hand over the key to a client’s new home at the end of the project and realise how much your team has been a huge part of bringing their new home to reality.
Now a little about myself, I am Kaylene Nolan – Daniels wife & I will be the one behind our blogs. It has come the time that we need to communicate with our clients further through the web. I am involved in the company in the office, taking on the roles from accounts, quoting, daily administration, payroll, marketing, ordering of materials and scheduling. I have taken on this role since leaving my job in 2012 to have our first son (now 4) and then our second son (now 2). Before this, I worked for a local building merchant for 10 years starting out as a call centre operator, fielding calls from trade customers. While working full time I studied to become a Quantity Surveyor which led me to the role as their estimator. Completing my Diploma in Quantity Surveying in 2013 has made it a natural progression into our family business. The above is just a little background information into who will be the person behind our blogs.
